What restrictions or downtime should I expect after Botox?

Botox aftercare is simple, and there’s minimal downtime involved. Here are the key restrictions to follow for the best results:

  • Avoid Touching Treated Areas: Don’t rub, massage, or apply pressure to the injection sites for at least 4 hours after treatment. This helps prevent Botox from migrating.
  • Remain Upright: Stay upright for at least 4 hours post-treatment to minimize the risk of Botox spreading.
  • Skip Strenuous Activities: Avoid intense exercise, saunas, hot tubs, or anything that significantly raises your body temperature for the first 24 hours.
  • Minimize Sun Exposure: Wear sunscreen and avoid prolonged sun exposure for a couple of days to reduce the risk of bruising.
  • Wait for Makeup: Hold off on applying makeup to the injected areas for at least 4 hours.
  • Be Patient: It can take several days for Botox results to fully develop.

Generally, you can resume most normal activities immediately after your Botox appointment.
