What’s the difference between brow tinting and eyebrow dye?

< 1 min read

While the terms “brow tinting” and “eyebrow dye” are often used interchangeably, there are distinctions between the two. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Brow Tint:
    • A semi-permanent dye specifically formulated for eyebrows.
    • Targets the hairs primarily, staining them a darker shade.
    • Provides a subtle skin stain, adding the look of fullness.
    • Generally, it’s gentler and safer for sensitive skin.
  • Eyebrow Dye:
    • A more permanent hair dye, sometimes used for eyebrows.
    • Offers a wider range of colors, including fashion shades.
    • Dyes both the hair and skin for a bolder look.
    • Carries a slightly higher risk of irritation or allergic reaction.

Which is right for me?

At House of Aesthetics, we primarily use brow tints for their safety and natural-looking results. However, if you’re interested in more dramatic colors or longer-lasting staining on the skin, eyebrow dye may be discussed with your esthetician.

Always consult a professional: It’s best to have your brows tinted or dyed by a trained esthetician to ensure both safety and achieving your desired look.
